All the way along
the Algarve, almost at the end of the world, just short of
Sagres lies Praia da Zavial.
Drive west along the A22 / N125 to Raposeira and turn left at
the traffic lights. Carry straight on past the sign post to
Zavial (it's longer that way) through Hortas do Tabual and the
cap park and beach are dead ahead.
This is a small well sheltered beach around a small headland
a short walk from the beach bar, which has a reputation for good
food, (closed on Monday!) and car park. There is now a lifeguard
and a concession zone (sun beds etc). We hope it doesn't change
the cliental there is a nice friendly international vibe about
the users.
According to Hun there used to be "Zona Nudista" signs where the
orange rocks are...... no sign of them now. Carrying on beyond
the next headland (you can only get around at low tide) there is
another small beach beyond.
It's a popular beach with surfers too.
