All the way along the Algarve, almost at the end of the world, just short of Sagres lies Praia da Zavial. This is a small well sheltered beach around a small headland a short walk from the beach bar (closed on Monday!) and car park.

According to Hun there used to be "Zona Nudista" signs where the orange rock are...... no sign of them now.

Facing the other way another headland you can get around at low tide with another small beach beyond.

A really nice beach we will be back ........and so will our friends from Ireland the Ms who sent a long e-mail about their findings on the Algarve. They agree with us on a lot of them including that Zavial is one of the best beaches on the Algarve! and sent some photos too

They also said that the beach bar served good food, the Buns found it was closed early season Mondays ... so sad!

Discovered it's a popular beach with surfers too

Sept 09 still great but there is now a lifeguard and a concession zone (sun beds etc). We hope it doesn't change the cliental there is a nice friendly international vibe about the users..
