Beaches at Vera Playa which is a 2 mile long official naturist beach

Vera Playa is Spain’s only official naturist area where you can walk the streets as well as in the various naturist complexes there, it also has a 2 mile long naturist beach which is directly accessible from the some of the complexes. 

The largest naturist complex (and the first to be built) at Vera Playa is Vera Natura. Which boasts the best gardens in the area and accesses directly on the beach. For those who do not like self catering apartments then there is the Vera Playa Hotel which enjoys direct access to the beach too. The hotel is naturist until 8.00pm when you must dress for dinner. There are plenty of restaurants and bars in the area and a very large supermarket.

This part of Andalusia is in the Province of Almeria and boasts the most days of sunshine in the all of Spain with an average of 320 days of sun per year. This part of Spain is also Europe’s only official desert. Even in winter the sun shines for most of the day allowing nude sunbathing so it is important to get a south facing apartment. It does get cold at night between November and February so you need to wrap up in the evening at this time of year.

Out and about in the area are lots of places to visit, within walking distance is a water park and close by is the fishing village of Garrucha with lots of fish restaurants as you would expect.

Further down the beach is the holiday resort of Mojacar with many restaurants bars and nightclubs. In the mountains behind the beach is Mojacar Pueblo a Moorish mountain top village that has many shops bars and restaurants. Mini Hollywood is about an hours drive away and this is the set where they filmed all the spaghetti westerns with Clint Eastwood.
