March 2009 the Buns ran away from the horrid British winter for a
week in the sun of Fuerteventura. We booked a week at the Monte Marina
Apartments in Esquinosa near Moro Jable, using Canarian Dreams as a
travel agents. So what did we get?
Arrival revealed that the complex (the Apartments and the adjoining
(textile) hotel) is owned and managed by a German family, fortunately
their English is excellent and the welcome was very warm.
The accommodation, of a good size and well furnished was of the
highest quality as good as anything I have experience in the world
of timeshare!!.

The grounds were well maintained and very attractive. The salt water
pool was surrounded by a large terrace and a couple of buildings housing
a library and the sauna .. naked out of the sauna into the sun and then
plunging into the pool fabulous absolutely fabulous!

The beach a few hundred yards away and a few hundred feet downhill is
the fabulous Playa Esquinosa/ Butihonda Beach white sand and black stone
circles described elsewhere on this site

On the downside the pool itself was rather tired ...loosing tiles, no
pool bar, there was a charge for the sauna and access to the beach was
via the hotel so you had to dress to get there.
We had booked half board, just as well in view of the collapse of the
pound! Breakfast was excellent and the evening meals were good value and
the options made choosing easy unlike the all in options at places like
the Occidental Grand...
We really liked the place and will be going back.
You can book like we did via Canarian Dreams, or Peng and Chalfont or
direct via the hotel web site at www.montemarinaplaya.com
