The Steves Went Skinny Dipping inland as well...

The smaller Lake Waikeiti is about an hours tramp up from the main lake and is the cleanest clearest lake we have ever swum in.   Interestingly we got to Lake Waikeiti just ahead of another couple who were looking at it longingly and doing the whole "well we haven't got our swimming togs with us thing"---as soon as i said that i never wear clothes to get wet they also declared that they always skinny dip when there is nobody around.    We walked another 15 minutes around the lake track and found just the perfect sheltered bay to swim in just as a family was leaving.    Perfect
